Getting out of a jam: Supporting traditional farmers and small business owners during COVID-19
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, different aspects of the jam production chain were affected. To recover better together, the UN country team in Azerbaijan has been supporting local initiatives that contributed to bringing this key element of the local culture and economy back to the table, while protecting lives and livelihoods.

Persons with disabilities represent an estimated 15 percent of the world’s population or approximately 1 billion people. A diverse, heterogeneous population, persons with disabilities face discrimination, stigmatization and other barriers that restrict them from participating in society on an equal basis with others. With the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (2030 Agenda), UN Member States pledged to leave no one behind, including persons with disabilities.

Solidarity in action: Venezuelan migrants and their host countries team-up
The decision for any head of family anywhere around the world to leave their home country behind is hard and heartfelt. According to official figures there are nearly 6 million migrants and refugees from Venezuela worldwide. Countries in Latin America and the Caribbean are displaying their solidarity by hosting around 80 per cent of them.
