The UNDG Arab States/MENA Team works closely together to provide UN Country Teams (UNCTs) with strategic guidance and policy advice, and coherent, coordinated and timely technical support through the established inter-agency Quality Support and Assurance mechanism, and oversight through the RC/UNCT performance management system.

The R/UNDG Arab States/MENA Team supports and works with teams in Palestine as well as 17 countries, namely Algeria, Bahrain, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. ‎

The R/UNDG Arab States/MENA grouping comprises the two regional commissions ESCWA and ECA and the following UN Agencies, Funds and Programmes: FAO, ILO, OCHA, ODC, OHCHR, UNAIDS, UNDP, UNEP, UNESCO, UNFPA, UNHABITAT, UNHCR, UNICEF, UNIDO, UNISDIR, UNOPS, UNV, UN Women, WFP, and WHO.

Our work is guided by the Quadrennial Comprehensive Policy Review (QCPR) of the General Assembly of UN operational activities for development, the Management and Accountability System agreed up on by the agencies in 2008, and the UN Development Group strategic priorities for 2013-2016 as well as the Regional UNDG Response Strategy and Framework for Action which was developed in response to evolving needs, opportunities and challenges which have emerged in recent years.
