The UN Development Operations Coordination Office (UN DOCO)  is the Secretariat and technical and advisory support unit of the UNDG. It brings together the UN development system to promote change and innovation to deliver together on sustainable development. DOCO works under the leadership of the UNDG Chair and guidance of the UNDG. The team provides field evidence to inform policy, facilitates the achievement of shared results, and promotes excellence in UN leadership and coordination. The core objective is a relevant and impactful UN contribution to development.

DOCO Management and Staff


The Director of DOCO is Ms. Kanni Wignaraja. Kanni has a wealth of experience in global, regional and country portfolios and inter-agency initiatives, and has served as UN Resident Co-ordinator and UNDP Resident Representative, Zambia which is a Delivering as One self-starter country.

Prior to being the RC of Zambia, she served as Director, Capacity Development Group, UNDP, New York; Co-chair of the UNDG Working Group on Capacity Development and Senior Policy Advisor, in the Bureau for Development Policy, New York. She was also UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in Viet Nam, and Chief of Asia-Pacific Regional Programmes.

DOCO staff have extensive expertise with UN country operations and all aspects of UN coordination, including strategic planning, development effectiveness, joint programming, business practice reform, joint funding, knowledge management, human rights mainstreaming, and coordination in crisis and transition settings.
