Steps to Develop a Gender Equality Marker

These guidelines are intended to provide a general overview of some of the common milestones UNDP, UNICEF and UNFPA followed in developing their gender marker systems from concept to implementation. It is intended as a companion document to the Gender Equality Marker Guidance Note, which sets out the principles and standards for gender equality marker systems to promote system-wide harmonized reporting on allocations and expenditures for gender equality and women’s and girls’ empowerment.
